b) Correlation coefficient = 0.961192
Coefficient of determination = 0.92389
c) Considering that the correlation coefficient is positive and also because of the positive
slope indicated from the scatter plot, it is apparent that there is linearly proportional
relation exists between population and solid waste generated. Also, the value of
correlation coefficient which is very close to +1 coupled with high value of coefficient of
determination at 0.92 or 92%, it is apparent that there is a strong relationship between the
two variables.
