Behavioral observations. There are any number of different indicators that you, the client, or some other person (e.g., another family member, a teacher) could observe to measure the quality of the relationship. These might include, for example, the amount of time spent together, the amount of time necessary to resolve a disagreement, the number of arguments, the number of negative statements the parent makes about the child, or vice versa. Furthermore, these observations could take place in the natural environment or in an analogue setting.
