Beard et al founded that mean smoking prevalence was 18.6% where as high drinking prevalence was 13%. Also, there was 1% decrease of prevalence of series mean smoking in association with 0.185% reduction of mean high risk drinking prevalence. The study concluded that there was not a significant association statistically between prevalence of high motivation to reduce consumption of alcohol and high motivation to quit smoking. However, between years 2014-2016, monthly changes in Smoking prevalence in England had positive association with high risk drinking prevalence. But the significant association between motivation to reduce consumption of alcohol, motivation to stop or attempts to reduce alcohol consumption and attempts to quit smoking were not seen as such.
