Barriers to personal growth. Each of the four major perspectives covered in this chapter offers a different view of the barriers to personal growth. The biological view reminds us of the importance of heredity to our temperament, the ecological perspective highlights the importance of the interrelated environments we face, the psychodynamic view stresses the cumulative effect of the crises we face across development, and the social learning view emphasizes faulty models, environments, and maladaptive behavior. Write a paragraph or so explaining how each of these views may help to account for the barriers to your own personal growth.
