B2: Chapter Assignments - Chapters 3, 4, 5, & 6 (Select any three chapters; 15% each for a total of 45%) Select any three chapters from Chapters 3, 4, 5, & 6 You will draw on three different news stories and write about 500 words for each news story, for a maximum total of 1500 words, contents only, for each chapter assignment. You do not require any introductory and concluding statements. 1. First, summarize the contents of the news story, citing the name of the author or organization responsible for the story. It must be a news story that occured on or after January 4th, 2023. 2. Second, show how each news story demonstrates or captures the following: specific and relevant concepts and illustrations from the class discussions, the class textbook, class handouts and videos. Be specific and direct in demonstrating the concepts, arguments and illustrations from class work. 3. Third, the implications or impact of the news stories for globalization in Canada and how Canada also impacts other parts of the world in an era of globalization (in effect, the dynamics of the news story for the relationship between globalization and Canadian society). Put differently, what do the news stories tell you about globalization and Canadian society. 4. See Lecture Schedule for Due Dates. If you are likely to miss the date for the submission of an assignment, send me a message ahead of time. I will deduct 20% for every day that an assignment is late without prior approval of the instructor. Assignments will not be accepted past one week of the original deadline.
