Part A
: A general conversation with the lecturer based on the following topics


  • You and your family





  • Your studies


  • Some French traditions & social characteristics ex: gifts, celebrations, weddings, life style



  • Your hobbies (likes and dislikes)


  • Holidays


  • Future projects




Duration
: 2 to 4 minutes


Part B
: A role-play with the lecturer chosen randomly out of 6.


Duration:

3 to 5 minutes



You will be assessed according to both, the use of oral language & content as per the following criteria:


  • Intelligibility of pronunciation

  • Spontaneity of speaking

  • Correctness of sentences

  • Correctness of Grammar

  • Richness of vocabulary

  • Intelligibility and coherence of ideas


Part 2: role-plays









Role Play 1 Phone conversation


The Lecturer: your friend
Your friend invites you to his/her birthday. You will not be able to go. Simulate the conversation.
Include the following information:


  • Greet her/him

  • Thank her/him for the invitation

  • Apologise for not coming

  • Mention what you are going to do on that day and why (travelling abroad to see your family, you are going to a pre-booked event...)

  • Ask her/him when they will be free

  • Invite them somewhere to celebrate their birthday

  • Close the phone call











Role Play 2 Planning a week-end in Lyon


The Lecturer: your friend
You are planning a week-end in Lyon for next Christmas (use the future tense).
You meet a friend and you tell him/her:

  • When you plan to go to Lyon

  • With whom you are going and for how long

  • By what mean of transport

  • Where you are going to stay

  • What you are going to do in Lyon (cultural activities, sport and shopping).











Role Play 3 Booking an appointment


The Lecturer: the secretary
You phone to your dentist to book an appointment. Play the phone conversation with the dentist’s secretary.
