Autumn is responsible for a petty cash box at work. Autumn is planning on going to lunch with friends but does not have time to stop by the ATM until later in the afternoon. Autumn struggles with the thought of temporarily borrowing $10 from the petty cash box and returning the money later in the day (after a visit to the ATM). No one would ever know.Technically, it is not stealing, it is just borrowing. As Autumn debates temporarily borrowing the money, Autumn begins to feel guilty. Autumn decides the behavior is unethical, does not take the petty cash, and skips going out to lunch with friends. Based on Autumn’s dilemma, answer the three levels of ethical behavior.
1. Is Autumn borrowing money from the petty cash box legal? 2. Is Autumn borrowing the money fair? 3. Would you feel bad about borrowing the money?
