1. Introduction
Malnutrition is the condition where people cannot get a proper balanced diet and the amount of food is not sufficient. Nigeria is a malnutrition prone area where this situation is not only limited to the people whereas it affects the economy of Nigeria as well as the security of the country. The cause of malnutrition in Nigeria is the lack of nutrients, which are iron, iodine and vitamin A in the rural area of Nigeria, such as northern strip, where poor women and children are primarily affected. From the perspective of a global health worker of World Health Organisation, the main role is to spread the awareness of malnutrition and to organise food for them with the help of some local organisations as well as government organisations.
2. Background: Profile and Prevalence of Malnutrition in Nigeria
In Nigeria, there are 37 percent children, which accounts around 6 million children are stunted that is chronically malnourished and low height according to their age whereas 18 percent are wasting that is acutely malnourished with low height as well as body weight. In this case, also half children are severely affected (UNICEF, 2018).

Inequalities of malnutrition are related to different background characteristics, which is significant in Nigeria though stunting is prevalent. Children of rural suburb are twice that that of urban area. Illiteracy is also a cause for this condition as a mother who is not educated has the high chance of being her child suffers from stunting malnutrition where the child has low weight according to the height. Children with poor family are also prone to have stunting malnutrition as compared to wealthy family (UNICEF, 2013).
3. Profile of Cultural, Environmental and Social Determinants of Malnutrition
Malnutrition as the condition of health occurs due to a different reasons that includes sociocultural factors that affects malnutrition in thousand area under five villages in North Eastern Nigeria. The percentage of malnutrition was high in women and among 25 to 36 years aged people (Micro Nutrient, 2017).

Harmful meal can cause malnutrition and cultural issue may cause the consumption of unhealthy food such as fast foods. It may hamper the timing of food consumption and the timing issue may lead malnutrition. Poverty is a cause of malnutrition where sedentary lifestyle has led the people to ignore the practise of exercise whereas some working persons forget to have meal for long period of time. Awareness of having a proper nutrition may help to protect from malnutrition. As per the view of Idris, Robinson, Faruk and Gwarzo (2018), women who are pregnant and not well nourished are prone to give birth of unhealthy baby and then the survival of the baby becomes a risk.
Stunting condition limits the sense of cognitive behaviour and it limits the mental as well as physical capabilities. There are different cultural issues where in some case; it is disrespectful for children to have egg. They also deny eating pertinacious foods like chicken, meat and fish for children, which are only allowed for adults as this, is believed that they are in their developmental stage and they are not allowed to have such meal (Legit, 2018).
