Audio. For this assignment, you will post 10 minutes of audio in an
mp3 fi le based on an interview that you conduct in conjunction with
the “National Day of Listening.” The purpose of this assignment is
to expose you to some of the possibilities and challenges of working
with audio.
• Select someone to interview.
• Develop a list of interview questions. Refer to the question generator or list of great questions on the Storycorps website.
• Once you have your questions, fi nd a quiet place to talk with
your interview subject.
• Record your interview. If you have a smartphone, you can use it
to capture sound.
• From the interview, select a particularly interesting segment, edit
out distracting side comments and then match it up with some
introductory and closing sound, using Audacity.
• For your soundtrack, try GarageBand, public domain music from
the Internet Archive (https://archive.org/details/audio) or http:/
wwww.inbfl at.net/.
