ABSTRACT:
The mo
tivation behind this paper is to disclose how to improve Organizational citizenship behaviour and how to build up an arrangement to acquire constant organizational citizenship behaviour through proper framework and informal environmental setting in work place. Organizational citizenship practices portray activities in which employee will go beyond their prescribed role requirements. T. This research will important for our restaurant business which want to create competence and organizational effectiveness over other restaurant in the town. To improve organizational citizenship behaviour in most reduced expense and most ideal path for our organizations to arrive at effectiveness.
INTRODUCTION:
Organizational citizenship behaviour is the positive attitude of working in an organization and the employees or the representatives use such practices which are not conventional way of working in a similar organization. The activities of the representative are done intentionally by them which places them in an upward position or an advantage than to other representatives. This is not which is a mandatory requirement for any job but it cannot be placed as a contractual obligation but it is something that has to come from the intent and behaviour or conscience of the employees. Organizational citizenship behaviour isn't something that is needed from workers to manage their work and it’s not part of their assigned tasks. Dennis Organ in 1988 distinctly gave the first meaning of Organizational citizenship behaviour as “an individual behaviour which is not rewarded by a formal reward system… but that, when combined with the same behaviour in a group, results in effectiveness.” [Tam Priyankara, H.P.R., Luo, F., Saeed, A., Nubuor, S.A. and Jayasuriya, M.P.F., 2018]

THE NEED OF ORGANIZATIONAL CITIZENSHIP BEHAVIOUR IN THE RESTAURANT BUSINESS:
Due to the typical characteristic of restaurant business (being a hospitality industry) where interaction between employees and customer are most the importance of organizational citizenship behaviour can’t be ignored. Rather it can be correctly assumed that organizational citizenship behaviour will have highest impact on these forms of business.
As said earlier, Organizational citizenship behaviour that is something which comes to an employee from his/her conscience individually which helps him/her to construct a positive relationship with the organization which eventually helps to effectively carry out organizational procedure and have upper hand over competitors. In the hospitality business, organizational citizenship behaviour gives a wider scope to help the colleagues and other employees thereby creating a much better atmosphere of work within the organization. The reputation of an organization is the most important contribution of organizational citizenship behaviour in the restaurant business.
The biggest challenge that the managers of a restaurant face is the management of the employees which includes retaining and managing skilled and talented human resources in the restaurant business are most difficult task.
