Your discussion should summarize the articles in such a way that it can justify any arguments you may present in your CLA2 assignment and should be different from the abstract. In addition to your researched peer-reviewed article, you must include an example of the article researched as it is applied by industry (company, business entity, and so forth). In the golden word of Michael Porter, "Strategy is about making choices trade-offs, its's about deliberately choosing to be diff
erent". I have selected differentiation as the corporate business strategy since it is the only way to stand out of the crowd and avoid bleeding into the red ocean. After extensively analyzing the market, I strongly believe that differentiation blended with innovation are the crucial factors for developing edge over the others giving them competitiveness to harness the value for the business (Blumentritt, T., & Danis, W. M., 2006).
Strategy Execution
Execution of strategy is the implementation of the plan in the efforts to reach the organization objectives. Without the strategy, execution is baseless and without execution strategy is useless. Senior management plays an integral role in order to successfully execute the strategy. Leaders are the driver of the change and inspires others to align with the overall objectives. Furthermore, senior management and leaders enable necessary resources and insights to actually execute the strategy on the ground. For successful implementation senior leaders and management needs to bank on their employees. Offering clarity is an integral responsibility of the management to be shared with the employees. Hence, implementation of the strategy needs to have adequate adjustment of the capabilities of the organization. Management is required for their overall vision and thinking with reference to the bigger picture.
Management Roles
Leaders then articulate this vision into actionable items which are absorbed and executed by the employees. People are the real workhouses that actually implement the strategy on the ground. Hence, it is imperative to have an overall discussion and communication session with them on regular basis (Charles W. L. Hill., 1988).
Strategic Plan Type
My strategic plan is to focus on differentiating the organization in the market such that consumers and target audience can identify it from the crowd. Differentiation can help in commanding a value that can help the business to shield themselves from the price-war. Contingent to the strategic approach, qualities that we seek in the employees can be broken down into three critical aspects - skills, attitude and knowledge. Essentially, individual should display below mentioned core competencies in order to ensure the success to the strategy (Jones, G. R., & Butler, J. E., 1988).
Quality of Employee
· Taking Ownership - A prospective employees needs to take accountability for their actions and full responsibility of the consequences
· Result Oriented - Any change can only be successful if they are able to drive the results. Therefore, driving results is crucial quality that we seek in the employee
· Collaborate beyond the Boundaries - It is very crucial to collaborate beyond the boundaries like interact with cross departments and the teams. Collaboration is essential for innovation and successful implementation of any organizational change.
Employee Characteristics
· Personal Agility - It is essential that a candidate or prospective employee is high on learnability and seek opportunities to consistently upgrade and upskill themselves.
· Customer Oriented - At the end of the day, business survives and thrives because of the customers. Hence, it is imperative for the candidate and prospective employee to be aligned toward with the customer in order to bring substantial relevance to the business.
