Assignment:

Your task is to describe how the monitoring and control of the IT –sub project in the Dinner-on-Line – DOL project should be carried out. The output is supposed to be a monitoring and controlling Procedure/Guideline that the Head Project Manager, after synchronisation with the other subprojects will provide the project members with. Off course the sponsor and steering group will also be interested in the document as such, but they are not the target group for the instructions.

You have been put in to a role as sub-project manager for the IT-project and you are a newly in hired consultant.

To your help you will have some background material as well as your previous experiences of the GECAB case. As in the real world, when the background material seems insufficient, you sometimes have to make assumptions. Assumptions that you made should be made explicit.

So the steps are:

1.    Find facts and background material, recall the case, revisit the literature etc.
2.    Write the monitoring and controlling Procedure/Guideline (you will find some examples of headings in the case background material). NOTE, that the guidelines shall be written as it is a instruction for your project members.
3.    Hand in the Procedure/Guideline
