Using a company specific example, investigate issues that impact on how this company operates in an international environment. These can include, but are not limited to, such issues as: political instability, terrorism, currency instability, currency inconvertibility, government assistance or resistance, or tax differences.

  1. The paper should focus on specific example of the company that operates in an international (global) environment (particular country anywhere in World). You do not have to limit your research to USA based companies.




  2. Introduce your company.



  3. Describe short country analysis.



  4. Is there any risk related topolitical instability, terrorism, currency instability, currency in-convertibility, government assistance or resistance, or tax differences? Please explain.




  5. Explain the industry of the company that you choose for this research. For example: Automotive, Consumer Goods, Energy, Financial Services, Healthcare, or Telecommunications Industry.




  6. Does the company face an additional issues related to international business such as socio-cultural or technological, etc.



  7. How successful is the company internationally?



  8. Conclusion. What are your own observations? What did you learn from this research?

The company chosen for the research paper is McDonald's (Mcd). McDonald's is an American fast-food chain, which was founded in the year 1940 in the United States. Mcd is among one of the most famous and renowned fast-food chains in the world and in terms of revenue also the company is world largest restaurant chain. The company serves different ranges of fast food products among which hamburgers, cheeseburgers, french fries, and soft drinks are some most popular ones.
 Seeking the health consciousness of the consumers the company has also added salads, fish, smoothies, and fruits to its menu. The company has established itself globally and expanded its business in several parts of the world. The company also has the ninth-highest global brand valuation. The company channelizes its business in local as well as international market and assemble changes are per the need.
Country Analysis
McDonald's was originated in San Bernardino, California, United States, and the company has its headquarters in Oak Brook, Illinois but later on, the company's global headquarters was moved to Chicago. The company's local market is the United States of America while the company operates in several other countries globally. Some of the prime countries include Canada, Australia, Japan, India, Germany, France, Sweden, United Kingdom, and many more. Considering the USA is the world’s foremost economic and military power with global interests and an unmatched skilled and talented population. The country holds an enormous restaurant and fast-food chain among which Mcdonald's is one of the most popular and revenue-generating (Singiredy, 2020).
Risk Related
Being one of the biggest brands and channelizing its services in several countries there are certain risks the company faces. In which some of the most prominent ones relate to political instability, terrorism, currency instability, currency inconvertibility, government resistance, or tax differences.
Political Instability- political instability is one of the most common issues faced by Mcd in several countries. McDonald's is facing issues due to both Brexit and trade negotiations with China, which is hitting the company when it comes to labor and sales. As the company is also operating in the countries like UK Brexit has made it harder for the operators in the UK to find good workers. The company also faced issues in China due to the uncertainty in trade discussions, which portrays that political instability is a serious issue for the company (Panwar & Patra, 2017).
