Background: I am working in respiratory ward, some people with asthma attack will admit to my ward for management, i found out some patients with uncontrolled asthma due to poor metered dose inhalera(MDI) technique, they always resist using spacer for MDI inhalation. Spacers should always be used with MDIs that deliver inhaled corticosteroids. Spacers can make it easier for medication to reach the lungs, and also mean less medication gets deposited in the mouth and throat, where it can lead to irriatation and mild infections. So it recommeds that anyone, of any age, using a puffer, consider using a spacer. Some literatures show using spacer for MDIs inhalation can improve asthma symptoms and reduce asthma attack compared to using MDI only. But some patients doesnt want to use spacer divice due to feel trouble and knowledge deficit. so i would like to implement a education program on using MDIs with spacer to reduce asthma attack (please give evidence to support). Education program including face to face education, assess and demonstrate technique of using spacer for inhalation, free provide spacer to patient use, video sharing and follow up plan.
