You are encouraged to present your views, arguments and counter-arguments, but these need to be informed and supported by theappropriate and relevant literature. However, an Executive Briefing Paper is NOT merely a literature review, NOR an opinion piece.
A 2500 words limit has been set as the maximum word count for this paper. If you think you can present a compelling and credible case to the Executive with less, then great. There is no minimum word count threshold.
A minimum of6 good quality scholarly referencesis required, each one MUST be used appropriately within the paper (i.e., in-text references). The six (6) references MUST be accepted as being scholarly and academically reliable (which excludes Wikipedia, vendor’s report/whitepaper, or individual opinions expressed in some Blogs and Web articles - a blog and/or a personal website and/or a news piece are nice to read and may contain valuable information, but these are not regarded as “scholarly references”). The Swinburne University library database features many useful and high quality references. If you have difficulty in using this database you will find the library tutorials helpful.
You are encouraged to use Industry report, consultant’s “thought leadership” whitepapers, Industry trends, Tech vendor’s whitepapers, etc., BUT these will not be counted towards the 6 scholarly references requirement.
