Assignment Overview
• A Project Manager is the overall lead. Also assigned to the project is a Business Analyst, Sales Lead, Business Development Manager, and Technical Expert who report to the Project Manager.
• The Project Manager just completed the review of the Statement of Work with the core team and they generated a project schedule with a critical path 3 months longer than the contract terms.
• They notice the largest gap is in the Requirements and Testing phases of the iterative and waterfall lifecycles
• She reaches out to her leadership for help and they assign you as the Requirements and Test Engineer to solve the problem.
Project Contract Details (this is what was signed):
• $3M cost
• 15 month delivery
• 20 resources (2 requirements engineers, 2 architects, 10 developers, 4 testers, and 2 deployment engineers)
• The project will use the iterative model with deployments every 4 months
Project Scope:
• Airport Check-in Kiosk with standard Kiosk functionality
Assignment Constraints:
• You cannot alter cost, functionality, or quality.
The answer should be requirements and testing focused,not project management focused.
Deliverables
1) Create the initial Gantt chart showing the 19-month time line with 4 months for Requirements and 4 months for Testing.
2) Write up and explain how you would reduce the time line using sound fundamentals of Requirements Engineering based on the Volere Requirements Process.
3) Create the revised Gantt chart showing the new 16-month time line – only changing durations for Requirements and Testing.

All of core team should be included in the adjustment of the schedule. Explanation should include Functional Requirements, Context Diagram, and Use Cases.
