SWOT Self-Analysis
SWOT Self-Analysis
Introduction
This assignment has been designed as a self-assessment assignment that aims at providing me with an understanding of the things I am most adept at and taking the opportunities to achieve my goals using these strengths. It also aims at enabling me to assess my weaknesses and the things that hold me back from getting better and then resolving the issues that arise as a result of these weaknesses. It will also help me to view myself and my capabilities with regards to my future and career.
While
performing this assignment I was able to gain some great insight into my personality and I was able to think clearly about what I am and where I stand when it comes to my aspirations and goals. I was able to develop a pathway and road that I wish t to take in order to better myself and see myself moving towards the self I aspire to be.
The first step in realization of ones goals is to understand who we are and what our capabilities are. It is only after achieving this sort of understanding that we can look forward to improving ourselves or know how we can achieve our goals. It also clears the pathways towards a better and clearer future. So in this assignment I have made a thorough analysis of my personality, strengths, weakness, goals, opportunities, threats and expectations.
In this assignment I conduct a personal SWOT analysis to get a good understanding of myself and my interest at the same time looking how to work towards my goals. I also mention my plans and measures I will be resorting to ensure success in life. I realise that becoming a successful Sales Manager is very achievable for me. All I need is to work towards resolving my weaknesses and taking hold of the opportunities presented before me.
This SWOT analysis of myself was aimed at being the best version of myself by finding where my strengths lie, what makes me different and special at the same time, being aware of my weaknesses and working at eliminating them by looking out for opportunities around me and threats that hinder me from moving forward and being better.
So the objective of my SWOT analysis is to learn more about myself and how I can develop as a person both in my personal life as well as my professional life and how to achieve my career goal of becoming a Sales Manager and great leader.
Section 1 – SWOT analysis
SWOT analysis, which stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats, is a strategic planning technique that is used to identify the internal and external factors related to a given person or group (Humphrey, 2004). It involves identifying the key strengths and weaknesses that function towards exploitation of opportunities and aid at avoiding threats.
Realising the need to keep up with the competition around me I decided to work on accepting my abilities and feel more confident. Thus, I conducted this SWOT analysis of myself to realise my strengths and admit my weaknesses and focus on the opportunities and threats to move forward in life and career.
In order to get dependable information I talked to members of my family and some close friends. This helped me get a view of how people perceived me and what they liked and disliked in me. I also found insight on their opinions about how I can improve myself. I also performed self-assessment through several brainstorming sessions to put down all that was in my mind. This helped me to get a good idea of my thinking processes and realise the subconscious thoughts and beliefs I have. I also took a look at my past performances in class and other activities. This also helped me realise areas of my strengths and what I needed to do better in order to get advantageous in my future prospects.

I took the time to chart out my strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and strengths in the given SWOT Template. At a view, I realized that my strengths and opportunities are greater than weaknesses and threats, so I find myself in an advantageous position for a start. However, some areas of my weakness are quite concerning since they are qualities that can be a great hindrance in my becoming a successful manager.
Strengths:
Good Communicator- I am very polite and pleasant to talk to which makes me a very good communicator and makes people comfortable talking out to me. I also have very good writing skills. These skills are necessary benefits for a good manager and leader (Mumford et al., 2000).
