Plagiarism –
the College takes plagiarism and academic misconduct seriously and therefore, suspected plagiarism will be investigated and if found to have occurred will be dealt with according to the procedures set down by the College. Please see your Student Handbook for further details of course of action for plagiarism issue.
‘Plagiarism’ is presenting somebody else’s work as your own. It includes copying information directly from the Web or books without referencing the material; submitting joint coursework as an individual effort; copying another student’s coursework; stealing coursework from another student and submitting it as your own work.
Student Declaration –
all coursework submission will need to bear a declaration signed by you.
SUBMISSION REGULATIONS
1. You are required to submit your coursework on-line through the College’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) which can be accessed through
http://stpmoodle.net . Detailed information about this is available in the Student Handbook.
2. Details of submission procedures and related course of actions can be obtained from the Academic Administration Department or the Student Handbook.
3. If you are unable to submit your coursework on time due to extenuating circumstances, you are required to make an application to your respective Schools for it to be considered, using an ‘Extenuating Circumstances Form’ available from the Academic Admin Office. Do not ask the lecturers responsible for the course - they are not authorised to award an extension. The completed form must be accompanied by evidence such as a medical certificate in the event of you being sick.
4. Specific requirement or subject specific requirement for coursework submission will be stated further in the assignment brief or will be advised by your lecturer.

LO2: Conduct small-scale research, information gathering and data collection to generate knowledge to support the project.
LO3: Present the project and communicate appropriate recommendations based on meaningful conclusions drawn from the evidence findings and/or analysis.
LO4: Reflect on the value gained from conducting the project and its usefulness to support sustainable organisational performance.
SCENARIO
Globalisation offer new ways to connect, collaborate, conduct business and build bridges between people, it exposes the core of all business functions and even the ways organizations are managed. Globalisation has also challenged existing business models and continue to do so. They have profoundly changed the ways we do business, buy, work and live. They have even altered society and continue impacting virtually all business functions and industries. It’s partially the trend Globalisation has brought to the world of business.
We can say that the business environment is changing so rapidly due to the effect of Globalisation. Businesses are adopting new ways and responding to the global trends and is becoming a vital mechanism of trade. The coming years will definitely show up new trends of Globalisation and how businesses will adopt and be responsive to the changing trends.
You are required to submit a comprehensive research paper with the theme:
An investigation into the positive economic, cultural, and ethical impact of globalisation on different business functions ( e.g. operations, marketing, accounting, HR) within organisations
TASK 1
Produce and critically evaluate a comprehensive project management plan for your research project for monitoring and completing the aims and objectives of the project, covering the following:
1.1.- Devise project aims and objectives for the above scenario.
1.2.- Produce a project management plan that covers aspects of cost, scope, time, quality, communication, documentation, risk and resources.
1.3.- Produce a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), a Gantt Chart to provide timeframes and stages for completion along with a milestone schedule. Each milestone should be a clear, achievable activity that the student aims to achieve within a particular time.

TASK 2
2.1 Carry out a small scale research and critically evaluate the accuracy and reliability of different research methods by applying qualitative and quantitative methods. You are required to record your working activities and achievements on the Project Logbook Template provided below. This weekly log should be presented to your tutor for supervision on weekly basis.

Prepare a professional business report to present the results of your preliminary study and evaluate the selection of appropriate tools and techniques for accuracy and authenticity to support and justify recommendations. 3.1.- Analyse the data using appropriate tools and techniques.
3.2.- Communicate appropriate recommendations as a result of research and data analysis to draw valid and meaningful conclusions.

TASK 4
Produce a performance review, covering the following; 4.1 Critically evaluate and reflect on the success of your project and your own performance on the value of undertaking the preliminary research to meet stated objectives and own learning and performance. You must use the performance review template provided below. Performance Review Template

· Did the project succeed in its aims? How do you know? Specifically, please outline any evaluation and assessment undertaken.
· What things do you think worked well and why? Evaluate all aspects of the project (e.g. initial inception, project activities and project outcomes) from a range of perspectives.
· What problems emerged during the project and how were they tackled? Was there timely identification of issues and resolution during the project process?
· What did you learn from undertaking the project?
· How would you rate your performance as project manager?
· What strengths and weaknesses of your performance did you identify?

FURTHER GUIDANCE
Grading
· Each Unit will be graded as a Pass, Merit, and Distinction when all learning outcomes and assessment criteria have been met.
· A Pass is awarded for the achievement of all Learning Outcomes against the specified Assessment Criteria
· A Merit or Distinction is awarded for higher level achievement upon achieving the M’s and D’s criteria.
· If all required assessment criteria have not been achieved the work is graded ‘Referred’.
· If the work illustrate more than the similarity % cap or concern over originality of part or all content of the work, it is graded ‘Withheld’. The student will then be interviewed to ascertain originality.
· In the case of incomplete work or partial submission (others such as blank template, no evidence of real attempt), the work is graded ‘Unreasonable Submission’.
· When a Unit has been assessed, Grades are reported on the College’s VLE. You can obtain the grade awarded by viewing the Submission Inbox, navigating different tabs to see the status of your submission.
· By viewing the Report, the Originality can be obtained. Clicking on the
GradeMark tab
will reveal the QuickMark comments. Clicking on the
General Comment tab
will reveal the comments made by the Assessor and Internal Verifier.
· Please note that numeric value (for example, 75% for Distinction) is used to classify the different grades awarded to support the system requirement on the College’s VLE, Grades are reported on the VLE as follow:
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- For any late submission without approved Extenuating circumstances prior to the set deadline, the grade is
capped at a PASS.
- It is expected that the guided word count are adhered to when writing your coursework.
