ASSIGNMENT:As you learned in this unit, a Rogerian argument is one that presents two sides of a debate and argues for a solution that will satisfy both sides. Given two articles presenting opposing sides of an issue (mandatory uniforms in schools), construct your own 2-3 page Rogerian argument essay in which you attempt to arrive at a workable solution or "middle ground."


In order to foster learning and growth, all essays you submit must be newly written specifically for this course. Any recycled work will be sent back with a 0, and you will be given one attempt to redo the Touchstone.

The first article “Dressing Diversity: The politics of difference and case of school uniforms” is written by Samantha Deane in 2015 which was published by Philosophical Studies of Education. She is a Clinical Professor in the Loyola University Chicago with specialization in Cultural and Education Policy Studies.
The article by Deane (2015) strongly stresses on impact of personal differences on humanity (para 1, article 1). The social injustice is covered under the policies of uniform dressing. The disruptive behavior and high academic performance standards can be achieved through it but socio-economic differences are not effectively reduced.
