Greenpeace: A Crusade against Climate Change
Greenpeace is one of those significant organizations who strive to attain the welfare of
the entire natural environment in which we the human beings dwell. Its long drawn efforts have
benefitted mankind from several perspectives and one of the most important perspectives is the
issue of climate change and global warming. Greenpeace along with
its innumerable number of
members across the world and with its branches in almost forty important countries of the world
has always rendered effort to protect mankind and to keep on the balance of the ecosystem. The
organization’s effort in checking the climate change is undoubtedly noteworthy.
The Greenpeace organization exists to protest against all those activities which endanger
the living conditions on this earth. A global campaigning organization, Greenpeace always work
to conserve the environment and to spread the message of peace across the globe. The
organization’s efforts are vitally related to the issue of climate change and through its
expeditions, press releases, scientific publications, etc. Greenpeace International is always
working on behalf of all those human beings who support the conservation of the environment,
the welfare of endangered species, forestation, and obviously prevention of procedures which
cause climate changes and hike global warming. Greenpeace acts as a chief catalyst to the energy
revolution to address the grave issue of climate change. Furthermore, the organization defends
the oceans by challenging destructive modes of fishing and it tries to resolve the issue through
establishing a global network of marine reserves. This effort is also related to the issue of climate
change, as by protecting the underwater species the organization is actually trying to protect the
ecological balance which is very much needed to prevent disastrous climatic changes in different
locations of this world. The organization also protect the ancient forests of the world and this in
turn saves animals, plants and people who that depend on those forests. By conserving the forests

the organization helps the cause of prevention of climate changes as forestation is directly
opposed to rise in global temperature. Besides, Greenpeace is continuously working for
disarmament and peace and hence, they are always working for elimination of nuclear weapons
and through this effort also the organization is trying to prevent the phenomena of drastic climate
changes as war, explosions (mainly nuclear), and excessive usage of weaponries too can inflict
wounds on the atmosphere which can directly cause rise in global warming and initiate
devastating climatic changes. Moreover, the organization also strives for introducing alternatives
to hazardous chemicals used in today’s products and manufacturing and by doing so it is actually
minimizing the degree of toxicity within our environment which in turn is again acting as a
source of checking climate changes. Apart from these, Greenpeace is also trying to protect
biodiversity and campaigning in favor of sustainable agriculture and rejection of genetically
engineered organisms and by doing so the organization is trying to save the ecosystem and such
effort also helps the preventive measures against rise in global temperature and disastrous
climate changes.
Greenpeace is continuously in the process of bringing positive changes and the efforts are
directed towards the prevention of climate change by trying to put an end to the addiction on the
part of mankind towards polluting fuels. One of the organization’s chief mottos is to promote
clean, renewable and efficient energy which will work in favor of restoring beneficial climatic
