Assignment 2: Mid-unit test

Due: Complete the test by 11.59pm AEST Sunday 3 May 2020 (Week 7)

ULOs: This assignment supportsunit learning outcomes 1 and 2.

Attempts: The test must be completed in one sitting.

Questions: There are two elements in this test. The first is comprised of six multiple-choice questions, and the second includes two problem-style questions.

The following information is specific to the problem-style questions:

• Marks will be rewarded based on detail provided and correctness of your response.


• You must cite relevant legislative provisions and case law when responding to the questions where appropriate.


• If you need to make assumptions when responding to any question, the assumption and the reason for the assumption must be clearly specified in your response.

Duration: You will be given 1.5 hours to complete all the questions in one sitting. It will be available for the entirety of Week 7.

Question types: You will be presented with one question at a time. You will be able to revisit questions previously replied to if you wish to select a different answer. The online test will include short-response questions about practical applications of taxation, concepts and calculations. This is an open-book test.

Content/material: This test will be based on the content covered in Weeks 1–6. While the questions in this test draw upon topics covered in both the learning materials and the essential textbook readings, pay particular attention to topics covered in Weeks 1–6.

Test results released: Your marks on this test will be made available two weeks after the test closes, and feedback provided.
