STRATEGIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS T1
Part 1
1. The Current Organizational Structure of Ford

Ford follows an integrated organizational structure recently operating as one of the leaders in adopting accounting software systems in the manufacturing industries in Australia. Ford is having an experience of 25 years in the industry of Finance and in SaaS industry. Ford is having one lakh and eighty seven thousand employees and sixty two plants all over the world. Ford is also one of the manufacturing giants of the world.(Galliers and Leidner, 2014
). The most renowned departments of Ford are Global Marketing, Sales and Service, Human Resources and Corporate Services, Quality and New Model Launch, Global Product Development, Government and Community Relations, Global Purchasing, Communications, Finance and Legal Accounting. Ford follows the following hierarchies:- Corporate Hierarchy, Regional Geographic Division and Global Functional Groups. Ford is producing lots of SUVs these days and wants to gain expertise after acquiring a cloud-based accounting software program with the help of all the existing departments. Ford is also playing the role of one the greatest giant manufacturers of cars in the world with its immediate competitors being Toyota Motors and Jaguar Cars. Ford is also trying to place its cloud-based accounting software as one of the giant players with the establishment of the Cloud-Based Accounting Software Platform. Ford, Australia is also stepping at its best platform with the help of the Vice President of Ford and now it is trying to gain its name in the cloud-based accounting software program of Australia. Ford has already acquired a cloud-based accounting software program.
2. What operational problems (e.g., inefficiency, errors) do you think the organisation could experience because of the structure?
The frequent operational problems (e.g., inefficiency, errors) that Ford could experience because of the structure are the operational problems related to accounting systems of Ford. Ford has never keep a sharp focus on the calculations part of accounting problems that crop up for the purpose of utilization of the accounting software. Ford also its strong Finance team but that team especially looks into the overall growth of Ford but not into the small perfection that is required for the sake of calculations. A new operational software should be installed by Ford to check the problems related to inefficiencies of the accounting software system. (Kellner and Swihart, 2014). Moreover, Ford is also witnessing small operational problems related to inefficiencies or errors related to the marketing strategies of the accounting software such as, operational problems related to segmentation, targeting and positioning strategies that are required for the purpose of marketing Ford and also for the purpose of catering Xero to other new nations where it has been not operating recently. Ford, therefore, requires to develop a very strong strategic team (consisting of both teams, finance and marketing teams) to solve all of its operating problems in every sphere. Apart from this, Ford, also needs to keep a very keen look on its strategic team, or better it can acquire a brand new software to control all sorts of dysfunctional problems of the accounting software cropping up from operational problems. (Pearlson et.al., 2016).
3. What is the most likely system acquisition method - commercial software, custom software, or ERP?
Custom Software is the most likely system acquisition method as the term ‘Custom Software' means a software that is developed for a specific organization. Ford also needs to adopt the ‘Custom Software' acquisition method for the process of acquisition of a new software by the existing accounting software service system, Ford for the purpose of checking all sorts of operational problems occurring within the accounting software service system, Ford and also for the purpose of best performance of the accounting software service system, Ford. Moreover, the process of ‘Custom Software' acquisition will help Ford to proper utilize the new software in its own ways and in its own processes in its own service system to check and filter all operational problems cropping up within the accounting software and using means to remove them in its own system installation rooms at respective workplaces of Ford, Australia. Ford also likely possesses the tendency of acquiring software in ‘Custom Software' acquisition method only for keeping the procedure of utilization of another software within the traditional accounting software service system, Ford totally secret from its subscribers and from its customers only for keeping the goodwill of Ford intact to its subscribers and to its customers. Ford also needs that acquisition method for melding the new acquired software with the existing accounting software, Ford to create a totally brand new software service system:- a mixture of the accounting software service system and a strategic software service system. (Arvidsson et.al., 2014).
