Introduction
The Enterprise resource planning(ERP) system is by far the most demanding and complex application of information technology (IT) used by enterprises. While traditional models of capital budgeting decisions may be inconsistent, managers need to compare the large amount of resources and time spent with implementing ERP with the significant benefits that ERP systems can bring. Although there is some evidence (from financial leverage analysis) that the company believes the ERP project is at risk. As people usually expect, the ERP appears to have an optimal level of the functional integration, and its revenue has been reduced to a level that is commensurate with the unusual scope of implementation. This study includes two case-studies associated with ERP implementation. The purpose of this study is to determine the success factors of ERP implementation are discussed.
Case Studies
Success of Cadbury:
For Cadbury, the application of this system has been a great success. The company has implemented the system with an excellent management strategy. As Permission et al. (2014) The firm followed a distributed policy when implementing ERP system. It gives them the convenience of experimental research and reduces the risk of the failure. The company is in no hurry to implement the new operating as well as data management system. The actual timelines and implementation phases helped the firm to collect all the data from the previous phase and make the necessary changes in the following phase.
The company focuses on employee recruitment and the ability of employees to use the ERP system with higher priority. It gives them great success in implementing ERP system and achieving a positive impact on the system(Cosmos Xulu and Suknunan, 2020). Though, the organization has developed a tracking system and “making sure it is the main goal” (Cadbury.com 2016). It also gives the company the confidence of staff and a high level of management to implement the new system. In addition, the company has also selected suitable suppliers to implement the ERP system. Choosing a copyright provider is one of the key conditions for successful implementation of ERP. Therefore, Cadbury’s case can be considered as a success of the project management and the sustainability of the new system in case of successful implementation of ERP (Chofreh, Goni and Jofreh, 2011).
Dabur case study:
Dabur, on the other hand, India’s largest personal care product company, has made great strides in implementing the ERP system. However, in carrying out this operation, the company adhered to an excellent management plan (GUNJAL, 2019). The company formed a group member from various departments, sales, planning, including distribution, financeand IT. Therefore, the company confirmed the participation of the top management and earned the trust of the employees. The company also follows a multi-stage (four-stage) strategy such as Cadbury. Established time for stakeholders to flexible operating management models in addition, the company tried to gather information about the requirements of each department and tried to integrate its solution into the system. The ERP life cycle consists of 4 phases (ERP implementation life cycle, 2020), namely analysis, installation, final preparation, and initiation. A coordinated theoretical framework is introduced, which we call the “Integrated the ERP Implementation”, which consists of a set of the theoretically essential structures. The framework is relied on project life cycle method, in which the ERP project goes through various steps before it goes online (ERP Life Cycle, 2020). Several aspects that influence the ERP implementation procedure are called critical success aspects in this study. Upon completion of the ERP application project.
Because this model is unpredictable, it is impossible to measure it directly, so multiple target rulers (each ruler consists of a set of the individual components) are needed to get indirect measures of each structure.
ERP Design and implementation benefits for both Cadbury and Dabur
• Implementation Plan - This is the 1st phase of an ERP implementation, in which an initial implementation strategy is ready, team members (new members or transition team members) are selected, and the scope of the initial project and objectives are defined. At this stage, the strategy and results of the implementation are also identified at Cadbury and Dabur.
• Installation — This is the 2nd stage of the implementation process. Rendering to the necessities of the ERP system, the equipment and network are installed, the ERP configuration is performed, the system client is executed, and the change management plan is implemented(GUNJAL, 2019).
• Final readiness - At this stage, enter data from the old system into the new system, convert the data, and perform a system test. In addition, users were trained regularly.
• Switch to online-Switching online is ERP implementation time point when the system is used in real production. At this stage, the ERP system works,...
