This is an annotated bibliography that will be 1500 words +/- 10%


Purpose


This individual written assessment is designed to assist you to develop your knowledge of management and business contexts. The secondary purpose of this assessment task is to give you the opportunity to enhance skills in research, professional responsibility, and written communication.


Task details


Your task is to compile an annotated bibliography of five recent (2014-2018) peer reviewed journal articles from the list of journals provided. You cannot use articles from any other journals and you cannot use the journal articles that are prescribed as weekly readings. You must include the doi for each journal article in the reference list. The list of journals that you can use for your articles is provided on the Moodle site.



    You are required to:



    1. Identify five (5) journal articles that match the first five topics of this unit. That is, you must find one journal article per topic: a. Organisational structures or governance, b. Environmental forces, c. Risks confronting the firm, d. Organisation and business practices, and e. The functions of diverse firms. You should search the library databases via the online 'advanced search' function of the CQUniversity library. By choosing the 'advanced search' function you can select the actual journal you wish to search.

    2. Write a short introduction discussing why the contextual factors are important to organisational decision making.

    3. Write 1-2 paragraphs per article that does the following: a. defines the main contextual factor being discussed in the journal article, b. outlines the new findings in relation to the contextual factor, and c. explains what these findings mean for managers in organisations.

    4. Write a short conclusion recommending one specific contextual factor as most important to CQUniversity's organisational performance. Explain your reasoning.

    5. Write a reference list correctly formatted in the APA style. This reference list must contain all five articles as well as the doi for each article.Weighting30%

      1. Explaining how major contextual factors affect business decision making (5 marks).

      2. Defining key terms, theories and concepts presented in Topics 1-5 (5 marks).

      3. Critical evaluation of managerial actions in relation to the contextual factors discussed in Topics 1-5 (10 marks).

      4. Demonstrating understanding of the impact of a contextual factor on organisational performance (5 marks).

      5. Correctly using the APA referencing system to cite academic sources in-text and in the reference list (3 marks).

      6. Correctly using appropriate conventions of academic writing (2 marks).

    The article is considering diverse contextual factors that assist in developing key aspects such as governance mechanism, community practices and methodology. Considering such measures the article is offering to learn about diverse governance activities so that working can be promoted in a critical way. Application of community of practice assist in information sharing and employment of diverse measures is beneficial to meet the standards. Methodology promotes learning about factors that assist in the completion of the study.
    b) New findings in relation with contextual factor
    Proper management of governance mechanism allows having an understanding about factors like sponsorship, leadership and play of routine. By having a consideration of balancing control the concept of management and leadership can be advanced in a critical manner (Brozilo, 2017).
    c) Importance of findings for manager
    With an application of diverse leadership values the business practices are being improved that improves the performance measures can be advanced. A number of leadership standards need to be promoted so that objectives can be accomplished. Information sharing also needs to be promoted by having a consideration of governance mechanism so that overall performance can be enhanced. Through the expansion of knowledge the adequate sustainability can be advanced in order to promote innovation. In order to manage structural diversity, the leadership application is significant as it also meets objectives.
    3. Short conclusion
    From the study, it can be interpreted that using diverse administrative aspects the work process can be advanced significantly. It is essential to have proper management of activities to promote CoPs. With considering facts and values the leadership and other aspects are being understood significantly so that corrective measures can be taken into account.
