Assessment Task 3: Essay – Communities at Risk Goal: Your task is to critically examine a specific group within the community that is considered to be “at risk” of developing mental health disorders during the lifespan. This task will require an in depth analysis of State and Federal legislation, policies and reforms to evaluate how the needs of this group have been met. Product: An essay Format: Select a specific group of individuals within the community who are considered to be at high risk of developing mental health disorders across their lifespan. Some of these groups may include women, children, those living rurally, those from a sexually diversified background, refugees etc. Critically evaluate how State and Federal legislation, policy and reforms have been responsible for meeting the mental health needs of this group, and reflect upon the success of these programs in reducing the risk of the group.
