Assessment task 2 Critical reflection on practice essay The purpose of this task is to critically reflect on areas of your professional practice. Using your knowledge of the pathophysiology of mental health in older adults, challenge your own assessment approach and care practices against current concepts of mental health well-being in the older adult. You will demonstrate your ability to transmit knowledge using professional language, and support your ideas critically using scholarly literature in this essay. In relation to the issues you raise in your critical reflection, describe and explain how your knowledge of the pathophysiology of mental health in the older person: (1) has influenced your assessment practice, and (2) Has, or will, change your assessment practice. Assessment Criteria Measures Intended Learning Outcome: Criterion 1 demonstrates the qualities of a reflective practitioner by critically reflecting on your own practice in the care of an older adult living with disabling mental health and how you have supported that person’s well-being. Criterion 2 Support your reflection with evidence (experiential and literature-based), demonstrating your understanding and knowledge of current concepts of mental health well-being in the older adult.
