1. Explain each of the five (5) steps in the diagram of the risk management process.
Step1. Establish the context
Risk can be referred to as an uncertain situation which can lead to negative results. Risk can also bring positive results or opportunities in order to understand the effects the risk management process needs to take place.
Step2. Identify risks
There are many types of risks such as environmental, legal, market, regulatory and other. It is important to identify the risks of managing risks. Certain techniques can be used for the identification of risks. This process encourages developing communication for cross-functional learning about risks.
Step3. Analyze and Evaluate risks
Identified risks need to be analyzed. Analysis can help to understand the scope of the identified risks and helps to find possible links with the other factors in the organization. Determining the seriousness of the risk effect it needs to be analyzed (Bromiley et al. 269).
Prioritizing risks needs to be done in order to understand high rated and low rated risks. Low-level risks do not require immediate intervention.
Step 4: Treat the Risk
Every risk needs to be eliminated or minimized according to the priority. Risks need to be eliminated by the experts of that field. Eliminating the risk procedure mainly takes place within an organizational environment.
Step 5: Monitor and Review
All risks cannot be eliminated such as environmental risks and market risks which are required to monitor. Engaging professionals can help the process of monitoring and reviewing the risks.
