The beginning modules introduce some ideas about society’s perceptions of wellness and wellbeing. These modules also discuss the factors that can influence children's attainment of both these conditions.

This assignment has three components:

What is your understanding of wellness and wellbeing?

Using some of the health model perspectives and health related theories in your readings, discuss three factors that can influence a child's attainment of wellness. Social and media aspects as they relate to health issues must be included as one of these factors. In your discussion, you must also consider issues of equity as per Module 3 and associated readings.

How can early childhood programmes support children and families towards improving their wellness and wellbeing in relation to the issues you have selected?

Rationale

Rationale:

Students will demonstrate a strong understanding of the holistic nature of health and the different concepts of wellness and wellbeing in relation to society and environments. They will also demonstrate an ability to link these theoretical understandings to early childhood practice.

  • understand the concepts of wellness and wellbeing from a health model perspective and how this pertains to the early childhood context;

  • recognise the impact that wellness and wellbeing has on the continuing development of the individual (adult and child);

  • analyse the social and media aspects related to health issues;

  • reflect on the social value placed on wellness and wellbeing and how this influences educators' perspectives on teaching practice in early childhood settings;

  • consider theoretical and practical means for fostering the wellness and wellbeing of children, staff and families in early childhood settings;

  • recognise the relationship that overall wellbeing has to social competence and the role that early childhood professionals have in fostering this.

[Wellness & WELLBEING]
Introduction
The words wellbeing and the wellness can be used interchangeability but they are distinguishably different. The well-being is a holistic whole of life experiences while considering wellness is defined to the physical health. It is said, that the employers can have a big influence on the employee's wellbeing. Even though they are different but they tend to influence each other (Cormier, 2014). in order to have a heal
thier life, it is important to have a happier work along with the personal well being. It is important to determine and include in the corporate or personal life in order to have a positive work environment.
Wellbeing
It is a way related to the holistic life experience and how to balance, find contentment along with the focus on the positive life. There has been a significant impact in terms of the employees well being which are related to the perks and the benefits dependent on the company culture. These are the factors which are considered important in relation to keeping the employee's well being and ensuring they are maintaining a healthy self (Miller, 2012).
The people can keep wellbeing even without getting into a corporate life and wailing a healthy self. They have to change their attitudes towards the life. By inculcating a positive life brings in the positive attitude to one and contributes to the environment. By including the well-being term, it actually signifies that the people are emotional, socially, spiritually grounded which can bring a positive state to the well being of the people's life. Also having a healthy environment leads to contentment and balance in the individual's life. Well, being is more related to being positive than to feel healthy and well, it is a feeling of contentment and helps in the better concentration towards life. By having a balanced life in terms of the entire emotional, social and the physical factors it would attribute to better positive life than to feel as a healthy individual.
Wellness
The feeling of the wellness is related to a sum of all the positive steps which are taken towards a common objective of having a healthier life. It is also dependent on the body focused along with the dependability on the several other factors such as the physical, social and the mental state (Reddy, 2017). Considering the physical wellness it is also measured with respect to having a healthy life having good habits. It is also related to either losing weight, making a visit to a clinic to look good or leaving behind the negative habits. All this are part of the physical wellness. The social wellness is defined as an equitable work-life balance. It also focuses on having positive social interactions within the work and home frame. The mental wellness has the highest impact on the well-being factor as it refers to the individual's recognition of talents along with having an ability to deal with the stress. For the wellness programs it needs to also consist of any incentives or perks which can only work for the betterment of the individuals.
The wellness and the well-being are important factors for the individual's life. It's not only vital for the adult to keep fit and understand the effects of positivity but the children equally hold importance in understanding such terms.
Health model perspectives and Health-related theories
For the children, it is necessary to have an environment which can work in terms of the flexibility along with ensuring frequent modification to bring a constructive knowledge of the wellness and the well being.
In the early education, there are two concepts which are sprouting up which are the homogenization and the institutionalization which works for the socially viable environment for the children. For the wellness and the wellbeing environment, it is important to include the educators in the system to ensure that they are able to work towards the child's attainment of wellness. It is the child care teacher which can help the child understand the good and the bad health. The educators play an important role in the life of the children. It is a duty of the educator to develop a flexible environment in which the children can grow while learning along with balancing the academic life.
For the healthcare perspective it is important to have the evidence-based conceptual model to be applied in the case of the children-:
Good health is originated on account of the multiple and the cross-sectoral. It is determined that the origins of the good health work for the genetic makeup along with balancing the environmental conditions, nutrition and having an environment in which exercise access to health care, social support towards the systems and many others. The factors which need to be considered include the genetic makeup which attributes to the implementation of changes (Carrington, 2013). It is determined that some of the factors can influence the variety of health outcomes such as the dietary habits, education or having multiple health outcomes. Only after a careful step and approach perfect determinants of health...
