Introduction
Sydney with 892 guest rooms, culinary experiences and 3,700m2 of versatile conference and event space, Hyatt Regency Sydney is one of Sydney's biggest luxury hotels situated next to Darling Harbour, Sydney's Central City. Two years in a row, Fortune magazine named Hyatt as one of the best places to work in. The Human Resources Department plays a key role in this phase as the company's employees become Hyatt's primary property. When recruiting workers Hyatt Regency Sydney is looking for people who can express their enthusiasm and build progress, they are inspired to develop. They choose to question workers who have a little bit about Hyatt's work environment and culture by doing analysis on their official website. Constant job openings are available to people who are creative and looking for opportunities to enter the Hyatt community, all jobs are available and searchable on hyatt.jobs. 21,000 career opportunities are posted in 2018.
As it can have a huge impact on the overall potential and capability of an organization to achieve strategic objectives and priorities, it is important to select the right person for the right job in the hospitality sector. Personal knowledge and skills of employees play an important role in improving an organization's competitive advantage, especially in the hospitality sector. Customer services provide competitive advantages in the hotel industry, meaning that high-quality staff need to be selected.
Park Hyatt Australia has not reacted appropriately because the high retention of its employees has been impacted. Park Hyatt would spend the same amount to recruit new workers and replace those who have left the organization. The recruiting of workers is a time-consuming, expensive and complex process. Park Hyatt is also hampered by the direct cost of staff turnover, which prohibits the company from fulfilling its goals and priorities. Consequently, both hotel businesses are switching to e-recruitment for stronger and stronger performances.
1. Background of the research
1.1 Problem Statement
Human resources are one of the main departments of the hotel that plays a vital role in enabling the association to achieve its objectives by captivating initiatives and offering guidance and support on all materials relating to its employees. The creation of strategies, initiatives that apply to everything relating to the production and advancement of staff, the relationship that occurs between the management and the workforce are the main role in human resources (Lad & Das, 2016). As a major hotel department, Human Resources plays an important role in the selection, retention and training of its staff, so my research emphasis is as follows.
1.2 Objective of the research topic
The objective of my research is to find out the recruitment process used by Hyatt Regency Sydney and to make the comparison between traditional and E-recruitment system.
1.3 Research questions
How the E-recruitment is processed by Hyatt Regency Sydney? What are the positive and negative impact of E-recruitment in large-scale recruiter?
2 Literature Review
2.1 About Hyatt Regency
Park Hyatt Hotel, Melbourne, is one of Australia's most popular resorts, and overlooks the Sydney Opera House at the Harbour arm (Fredericksen et al, 2015). The Museum of Contemporary Art in Australia is an8-minute walk away. The hotel has an elegant, relaxing restaurant, a bar, a spa, top roof pool, and steam room. The hotel also offers free parking. Although the hotel has such an enticing structure, the issue with hiring and choice is that it lacks profitability. Not only are many hotels in Park Hyatt impacted by the attrition problem in this country, because according to a recent study, Austria is losing approximately 51% of its workers each year (Dutta, 2018). A turnover benchmarking study shows that an average turnover rate of approximately 15 percent annually, but the figures collected by Griffin University are three times higher. This major issue comes directly from the Department of Human Resources, which should be minimized to achieve satisfactory productivity.
He bought Hyatt House Motel in 1957, near Los Angeles Airport. In 1957, he bought it. This was the beginning of the story of the large company that operates, owns and maintains 434 hotels worldwide. It became a public entity in 1962 by the Pritzker family. In 1968, a new company called Hyatt International was established in order to manage properties worldwide other than North America. In 2004, Hyatt Enterprises and Hyatt International entered the Hyatt Hotels Company as a single entity (Melanthiou, Pavlou & Constantinou, 2015).
2.2 Recruitment
Recruitment is not a straightforward task, it is affected by various internal and external influences. The goal of hiring is to restrict the vast number of potential workers to a limited group, which will then lead to the selection process. Form of Recruiting External Recruitment–Any recruiting which takes place within an organization that may include the relocation, promotion or re-employment of ex-partners. External hiring improves the productivity of employees and also saves time, resources and the efforts of the recruiter (Goel, 2018). Hyatt regency Sydney is introducing its internal recruiting through its job website and publishing vacancies on the TV screen accessible in the workplace. Outside Hiring–Every hiring that takes place outside the group shall constitute outside recruiting. This takes a lot of time and money. Examples may include advertising organizations, employment agencies, educational institutions, advice, labor contractors, etc. Hyatt regency Sydney does the same for employee hires and uses the E-recruitment process for the hiring of new staff (Malik & Mujtaba, 2018).
2.3 E-recruitment process
E-recruiting is the online tool which is used in recruitment process where the process is automated. It helps job seekers to search and apply for vacancies online. Along with globalization bigger as well as smaller companies have switched to E-recruitment process rather hiring staff by using old recruitment process. Interesting, shortlisting, selecting and appointing suitable candidates for jobs within organization has become easier with the E recruitment process. The process includes attracting the candidate through the website where the information is formulated in a much more dynamic and fashionable way than was the case in the past. Job explanation to person stipulations are stated. The process is followed by selecting and valuation where online pre-screening tools enable recruiters to screen out appropriate requests from the inappropriate request on the...
