Essay: article review/focus Weighting: 15%

a) Evaluate the effectiveness of the data entry controls (both the manually performed and computer-executed ones) in place at Westpac.

b) Pretend that you are part of the internal audit team at Westpac and suggest some controls that you would put in place to reduce the likelihood of errors like this from occurring again in the future and explain how they would work.

Written submissions should be approximately 1,600 words in length, professionally presented, and must comply with the requirements listed in the Student Handbook for this course. Font should be 12pt time’s roman, 1.5 x line spacing, at least 3cm left margin and all work appropriately referenced using Harvard Referencing system. See TAFE Referencing Guide for assistance. The minimum number of appropriate sources of information should be approximately 5 per 1,000 words. Supporting visuals including diagrams, sketches, photos and other relevant illustrations as deemed necessary, should be included as appendixes only.
