Prepared by Dr. Ajay Shiv Sharma Moderated by Dr. Md Hasanul Ferdaus August, 2019 MN506 System Management Page 2 of 5 You have been provided a sample case study below: Case Study – Yeemi You are an employee of Yeemi Pty Ltd (Yeemi) running successfully in the field of Ecommerce from last decade. Yeemi promotes you as an IT Admin with huge responsibility to plan and implement various application servers for their organization in 2020. You are the project leader of a proposed project which will analyse human usability in systems and documentation within the context of constantly changing modern industry requirements. This will automate and equip internal stakeholders as well as external stakeholders to instantly communicate through evolving concept of Directory-as-a-Service. The problems with the current scenario are: • The top management and many customers are dissatisfied with the current situation. Competitive companies have improved their older ways of functioning and are surpassing Yeemi in terms of transparency for internal stakeholders and overall customer satisfaction for external stakeholders. Your CEO has stressed the importance of the project to the company and asked you to use your skills as an IT Admin to make sure the project is successful by following the relevant IT project ethics. The organisation has given you guidance that the project needs to be completed within 9 months and that costs should be minimised wherever possible. Decisions like this will most likely require deep thought as they involve people, resources and the environments. You may make any appropriate assumptions needed to enable the successful completion of the project. Assignment Task Hint: (i) An application server is designed to install, operate and host applications and associated services for end users, IT services and organizations and facilitates the delivery of high-end customers. It is diverse from but frequently works in concurrence with a web application server. For this assignment, you can plan and implement LDAP server and new WebServer (two or more application servers) for Yeemi which will be beneficial for both internal and external stakeholders. (ii) “In recent years, usability has become more than a concept. In many organizations, usability is an important part of software development. And more and more companies are discovering that not only is usability good for users, it’s also good business.” [Adapted from Usability: A Business Case] “The Three S's of Ecommerce” [Available: https://www.top10ecommercesitebuilders.com/] For this assignment, you can do analysis of Human-Computer Interactions and Usability for old and new WebServer for Yeemi by comparing and contrasting the implemented system with cutting edge Ecommerce portals like eBay, Amazon, Alibaba etc. Prepare a report that includes the following sections: Prepared by Dr. Ajay Shiv Sharma Moderated by Dr. Md Hasanul Ferdaus August, 2019 MN506 System Management Page 3 of 5 A. Executive summary that provides a brief summary of the report and the key findings that emerged in regards to plan and implement various application servers and your analysis of Human-Computer interactions and usability. B. Introduction about how you go to intend about this project with global awareness. C. Perform the configurations using either virtually or physically installed server OS to realise the case study. Students can use Windows Server 2008 or a higher version, or Linux server if appropriate, which will depend on your assumptions. Your submission should include screenshots of each important step through evolving concept of Directory-as-a-Service. D. Prepare a detailed system documentation report to cover your work done in step C, using a standard template. You have the freedom to create a template, with company name, logo, etc., and use that for your documentation report. This report will serve as an important part of backup and disaster recovery documentation for your organisation, and can be used for training new IT staff in the organisation. E. You must consider human usability factors and include the configurations using description of each important step, and screenshots corresponding to those in a way that will be useful to the target customers or users in regards to implementing user centered portal design. F. Compare and contrast the implemented system in step E, with cutting edge Ecommerce portals like eBay, Amazon, Alibaba etc. in regards to Human-Computer interactions and usability. Use your implemented system to demonstrate individually during your week-12 lab. Individual understanding will be tested during your demonstration. Submission Guidelines: This assignment is a group assignment. Students will work in minimum groups of three and only the group leader will submit the files required at Moodle assignment submission link. 1. Your report should include the following: • The report should have a consistent, professional, and well-organised appearance. The word limit to create the report is 1800-2000 words. • Students are required to submit the range of documents mentioned in the Assignment Task. • The cover page must identify student’s (name and ID), teaching staff, and the assignment title. • Reference sources (IEEE style) must be cited in the text of the report, and listed appropriately at the end in a reference list. 2. The assignment must be submitted in electronic copy on Assignment 2 Submission Link. Note: The students are advised to visit Centre of Learning for guidance in making professional reports. Executive summary
Running services of ecommerce requires different server applications. The selection and deployment of application servers for future growth of Yeemi organization is main task carried out as the IT administrator of this organization. The changing industr
ial requirements of modern IT world require updated effective server capabilities especially for the ecommerce organization like Yeemi. The application server implementation to this ecommerce organization (Yeemi) requires proper planning, usability analysis and HCI (human computer interaction) implementation. The HCI implementation and planning of application servers will decide the user interface and required service execution for this organization. The implementation of DAAS for all internal and external stakeholders with automated ecommerce process execution shows the role of HCI to Yeemi organization [1]. The transparency maintained by new application servers will provide a healthy competitive environment to Yeemi organization. The functioning of ecommerce platform will also be improved by these changes. The implementation of new application server requires holding certain ethical values as the IT administrator.
The effective configuration of LDAP for maintaining functionalities is carried out in presented report. The role of HCI for designing the portal for user interface I also effectively analyzed. The proposed documentation for this application server implementation will effectively guide the new users to use the ecommerce services with the deployed server. The proposed usability’s of this new server will reduce the stress of CEO and resource utilization can be improved [2]. All the developments and cost estimation are carried out by taking the target deadline for this new application server implementation for the ecommerce platform of Yeemi. The comparison in competitive environment of other organizations is also carried out. Thus, the proposed report will provide a guideline for Yeemi to implement new application servers.

1. Introduction
The implementation of application server with DAAS capabilities shows the main working for this Yeemi organization. The Windows server 2008 R2 is used for this implementation. The global awareness of security is essential for the ecommerce platform. The implementation of this application server will help in effectively managing the ecommerce platform of Yeemi organization. The configuration of LDAP and development of portal design will help in managing the services of this ecommerce platform. The usability of this application server wills very high for the Yeemi organization and HCI implementation provides easy interface to execute the required services. The use of Linux server can cause security issues, thus, Windows server 2008 is preferred to make development of this DAAS platform. The use of Windows server will provide a required confidence in all the client organizations [3].
The use of LDAP and its configuration on windows server is mainly carried out. The authentication and encryption are the most common requirements of ecommerce platform, thus, this LDAP configuration is carried out by considering these points as the important requirement. The restriction services, security addition, configuration limitations and information are properly specified in the presented report. The supplied document can be used to maintain the HCI implementation for defining the interfaces with end user or client organizations. The implementation of LDAP services requires following a specific procedure in which the process of creating new directory, adding registry, implementing manager...
