Self-Awareness is the key to becoming a great leader and manager, is a very true statement. Without knowing about oneself no one can understand what qualities or characteristics are instilled in oneself. Introspection is the hardest job as it is easy to know what the others think or do but it is difficult understand one own self. But with the help of self-awareness, self-development can be done and through the self-development process it becomes easy to be a great leader or a great manager. Self-awareness is a long process that helps in knowing the inner skills and capabilities which are hidden inside people. After introspect every individual can get to know about the hidden qualities, thus it helps in moving towards the self-development.
Brief Review of your findings
Basically it could be understood that self-awareness means to understand the personality, as personality is the inner reflect of an individual that how an individual behaves and react towards a particular situation. The personality let the individual know about the cognitive and the emotional se patterns of behavior and self-awareness builds the foundation of the individualist behavior (Dennis & Bocarnea, 2005). To understand the personality, different tests are been conducted that determines the type of personality one have and the required changes that are needed in the personality can also be understood through the results of the personality test. The different tests are: Myers Briggs Profile, Costa & McCrae Big 5 Personality Traits, McClelland Needs Analysis and Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument. These are some tests that throw light on the set of emotional and cognitive personality. The personality tests and the findings totally match with the existing behavior of the user. With the help of the findings one can understand the type of personality one is having and what changes are required in the personality to become a great leader (Turrentine, 2001). These tests can help people understand their own self as the results are helping in creating self-awareness. These tests had helped people in letting them do their own SWOT Analysis and helped them in understanding their potential skills through which they can realize that they can be a great leader or a manger in the organization or even in their own organizations.
