The ability to address and provide the care necessary in a health care environment requires a specific degree of knowledge, attitude, belief, and experience. These abilities allow a nurse to not only hone their skills and techniques but also allow them to maintain a professional demeanor during treatment and evaluation of patients with life-limiting and/or life-threatening conditions. The key factor amongst all those that are valuable is the level of knowledge a nurse has attained mainly through the education and understanding of the patient's feelings. During the COVID 19, healthcare professionals especially the nurses are facing different physical and mental experiences, which should need to be addressed and seek support to continue the efficient and effective working of this critical and important sector. In this research paper, the author will analyze the psychological experiences of nurses during COVID 19. Problem Statement Most of the countries are facing serious problems due to COVID 19, the authorities recruit more nurses for providing quality services to the people. The nurses are required to undergo two weeks of training before providing care and services to COVID 19 patients (Sun et al., 2020). The nurses must reduce the stress and mental issues of COVID 19 patients. Nurses also faced different psychological problems due to the workload and pressure from the government. Purpose of the Study The main purpose of the research study is to understand the psychological experiences faced by the nurses and how it affected their duty of care towards the patients. Some other purposes of the study are as below: · The study also aims to know about the mental and physical problems faced by the nurses during the COVID 19. · It also emphasizes knowing the coping strategies that help in managing the issues faced by the nurses. · To what extent does healthcare organization support nurses for improving their mental and physical strength (Meben et al., 2020) · The study aims to explore the personal and professional problems faced by nursing professionals. Literature Review According to Shi et al in 2016, during a pandemic situation, organizations have to develop new policies to combat the infection, which may include training, new staff, updating of existing policies, and many more. Nurses are one among such workers who are deemed an important key in dealing with such critical issues. According to Cheung et al in 2020, nurses should have a balanced approach to maintain a healthy work-life balance. In this pandemic situation, most of the hospitals are aiding healthcare workers in reducing the psychological issues faced by the nurses. Many nurses are afraid of their connection with the patients and they are not getting enough time to spend with their families. According to Que et al in 2020 healthcare organizations must implement effective strategies for improving the physical and mental strength of the nurses. According to Kackin et al in 2020 major stressors for the nursing professionals during COVID 19 pandemic are as follows: · Shortage of PPE Kit and Lack of Clarity about the Medication Personal Protection Equipment provides more safety to the nursing professionals, due to heavy demand most of the nursing professionals are not getting PPE and safety measures. Including the World Health Organization and other international medical organizations does not know what they have to do right to managing the health issues faced by COVID patients. Lack of clarity about the medication is also called another problem faced by the nursing profession (Maben et al., 2020). · Internal Scrutiny of International and National Media Media are checking the services provided by the nursing professionals and if they make any mistake it directly affects their confidence and skill level. Media considered COVID 19 as a hot product and they are using different ways for disclosing different problems related to the services provided by the nursing professionals. · Isolation from Family and Others Nursing professionals do not get the opportunity to interact with the family members and they have to spend most of the time in the hospital. Wearing a PPE kit is another problem and it creates different health issues for the nursing professionals. We know the fact that family is called the major strength of every person in the world. Due to COVID 19, the nursing professionals are not allowed to interact or stay with their family and they feared that if they interact or stay with the family, the infection might transmit to family members (Shi et al., 2020). · Lack of effective Treatments for Unwell Patients Another major stress that affects the nursing profession is related to the lack of effective treatments and equipment for unwell patients. According to Chen et al in 2020 as compared to male nursing professionals, female nursing professionals are more stressed, and they face mental concerns such as anxiety, depression, and insomnia. This can also be because female nurses are stressed about looking after both professional and personal life (Labrague et al., 2020). COVID 19 is a new disease and different medical systems in different countries have different strategies. The studies published so far have focused on prevalence, disease characteristics, diagnosis, and treatment. Some reports have been identified to focus on the severity of mental problems in medical professionals and the need for psychological care. However, there is no evidence of studies being done specifically on the experiences of nurses during the pandemic (Sun et al., 2020). Research Methods The research will use a phenomenological method to qualitatively analyze the experiences of nurses during COVID 19. This approach explains the circumstances and emotions of nurses and explores the shared idea rather than individual attributes in research subjects. The approach assures the reliability and validity of the collective experience of participants withing the scientific standards (Sun et al., 2020). Data Collection The data collected for this research study on psychological experiences faced by the nurses were gathered conducting the interview and self-report questionnaire. After consent from participants, questionnaires will be sent either through e-mail or will be conducted face to face or telephone. Questions sent through the mail will have a one-week time frame to revert. The researcher will also use social forums for understanding the psychological feelings and emotions of the nurses. The researcher will also use published journals and articles for getting more information about the topic. Interview Questions The questionnaire for analysis will include the following questions and can include questions to elaborate or explain more if needed. 1. What are your feelings as a caregiver during the epidemic? 2. What do you think is the difference between providing care due to COVID 19 and working otherwise? 3. What are your thoughts in the face of the epidemic? 4. How did you feel on the first day of your job since the epidemic was declared? 5. How do you feel now? 6. What has changed in your life? 7. How are you coping during COVID 19? Personal Reflection Being a healthcare worker, the researcher faced psychological concerns like stress and anxiety herself, working during the pandemic. This motivated the researcher to conduct a qualitative analysis of the experiences of healthcare workers, particularly nurses, during COVID 19. The researcher will obtain consent from participants before conducting interviews. The analysis will solely focus on feelings and perceptions of nurses and will eliminate any information related to the organization's policies, which can be ethical misconduct without approval from the organization. Not only this, the researcher considers that as the participants include researcher’s friends and colleagues, there are chances that the participants might not answer all the questions in a serious context and also the participants might ask for explaining a “basic idea” about the researcher’s expectations from the interview. These reasons have the potential of bias, but the researcher is determined to avoid any falsifications and twinning of information received. References Chen, H., Sun, L., Du, Z., Zhao, L., & Wang, L.
