Introduction
The process of goal setting is important because it helps in identifying what is important and what should be pursued in life. However, the goal setting is not an easy task and it requires a proper methodical approach. Such a methodical approach of the counsellor will enable to give a clear insight about the purpose and the ways through which the proper application of strategies will help a person to reach their target. Setting goals are very much important because it provides a long-term vision regarding what need to be accomplished and a short term motivation which will them to take ach steps to achieve the desired goal. Goal setting helps in focusing on acquisition of knowledge and that will help in organize the time and the resources as that could help one to make most out of life. In addition, the last question that the counselor had asked is regarding the time limit that the client has fixed for attaining the goal as without a deadline the task can never be pursued purposefully.
Analysis of Foundation Skills
Any work cannot be done properly if the foundation is not right. Locke and Latham (2019) have discusses that every goal must undergo some foundation steps as that will help the person to work on their strategies to achieve the goals. Being a counselor it is the prime responsibility that I should help my client to have a clear overview with respect to the goal. A goal need to be a measurable goal function. I need to make my client realize that the goal must be such that it can be achieved. Further the setting of the goal achievement levels need to be set. The goals need to be in clusters and that will help the client to easily achieve each cluster to reach the final goal. And finally with the effective support system such as the maximizing the time allocation for the work and the maximization...
