Assessment 3 is about uncovering the complexities in operations management generally, identifying key themes, intended and unintended consequences and proposing a holistic solution to the problem using a Systems Thinking lens. The following scenario study provides you with a brief overview of a hypothetical problem. Be aware that the scenario provided may not cover every detail that you will need to address in the Written Report, in which case, you will need to conduct additional research, including further research on how emergency departments function in any hospital.

In this assessment, students will try to solve a practical problem by using Systems Thinking tools called System Archetypes combined with value stream mapping. Instructions: Assessment 3 is about uncovering the complexities in operations management generally, identifying key themes, intended and unintended consequences and proposing a holistic solution to the problem using a Systems Thinking lens. The following scenario study provides you with a brief overview of a hypothetical problem. Be aware that the scenario provided may not cover every detail that you will need to address in the Written Report, in which case, you will need to conduct additional research, including further research on how emergency departments function in any hospital. MGT603_Assess 3 Written Report Page 2 of 7 Scenario Overview: Consider yourself as part of a team responsible for managing the operations of an emergency department of a public hospital. The emergency department has received feedback from patients suggesting that the patient wait times need to be improved. The value stream map of the current operations is shown in the attached diagram. The Value Stream Map is can be Found via the Assessment Link. You have been tasked with improving patient turnaround time by reducing the current time to half. To complete the task you are required to identify the various System Archetypes that affect the operations of the hospital and the emergency department itself and based on the archetypes, develop a future State Value Stream Map of the emergency department. It is recommended that you identify and critically analyse intended and unintended consequences, recommending holistic solutions that will optimise the operations of the emergency department without compromising the performance of other functions of the hospital. Suggested format: Your Written Report should include the following sections and sub-sections. VALUE CHAIN MAP        10
Executive Summary
The assignment has shown a detailing of the value chain mapping of a public hospital. The key factor, which has been highlighted, is the steps, which make a patient, wait long in the treatment sessions. The most important factor shown is how the time management of the patient's wait in the hospital can be reduced with the initiation of strategies and techniques. The work also shows the recommend
ation regarding how the hospital will strive for the new arrangements. The results show that turnaround time can be lessened by 2 hours which acts as a positive impact for the regulation of the hospital.

Introduction
This assignment has been based upon the System Archetypes and the Value stream mapping which impeded the performance of the public hospital. The assignment will focus on highlighting the key factors of the system archetypes at first. In the next steps, it will show the current value stream map for the emergency department which will be based on the mode of the system archetypes. The various advantages and the disadvantages of the system will be shown lining from value stream map and the archetypes. Additionally the work will conclude with a suitable conclusion and recommendations of patient turnaround time and discussion of intended consequences.
2. Main Discussion
2.1 Identification and Analysis of the System Archetypes
Identification
There have been eight types of the system archetypes, which led to the evaluation of the performances. The kinds are limits to growth, shifting the burden, eroding goals, escalation, and success to the successful, and tragedy of the commons, fixings, the failures, growth and investment.
Irrespective of the huge amount of growth, a company is liable to deteriorate in success as the factors, which have been implemented for it is excess (Chofreh et al., 2020). Therefore, growth should be limited as well. In the organization, there have been various tools for which the irresistible burdens are created, which harm the management; therefore, burden shifting becomes necessary with implementing key factors. Eroding goals are the set of objectives and the mission, which has been needed in the organization for the escalation of its services (Banson, Nguyen & Bosch, 2016). Success to the successful has been referred to as the set of terms and the conditions in the system archetypes in which a successful management incurs more detailing for further success of its organizations. Tragedy of the commons has been referred to as the economic problem in the archetypes in which an individual has an incentive to consume a resource. Fixing the failures are the steps to reduce error and the investments are an accumulation of the money for organizational progress. Success to the successful is the two reinforcing structures, which have been acquiring delicate balances in case of emergencies.
Analysis
Among the eight types, first is the limited growth. One benefit of the limited growth in the emergency system of the hospital is that it helps in avoiding the massive amounts of debt, which often accompany rapid growth strategies in hospitals, leading to a stress in the finances. In the system, an archetype shifting the burden acts as a framework in hospitals where a deferent claims that the debtor has received indirect benefits in exchange for the transfer balances. Eroding goals is an archetype in which the historical instances of the poor performances, like in the case of hospitals can affect the perceptions of how things would turn out, leading to the low performers. Escalation is a set of system behaviors in organizations. Tragedy of commons is analysed as the multiple agents in rational self-interest, which helps in increasing actions. For example, the source of the tragedy of the commons referred to as the governmental regulations followed by the organization and the imposition of the private property. Fixing the failures are strategies to overcome difficulties (Güran & Yasarcan, 2016). The goals and the investments are the reasons and the systems for reaching the goals in the organizations.
2.2 Current State Value Stream Map of emergency department
A broad overview of the value chain map has been initiated in this process in order to check the time intervals, which have been needed by patients. The...
