Assessment 3: Group Written Report & Oral presentation (35%) – Between 1000 - 1200 words
Written Report (20%): Due week 9
▪ Students are required to submit a 1000 - 1200-word report on an allocated topic.
▪ Outline group progresses and individual’s contribution
▪ If a student fails to contribute equally to the group assignment, s/he will be given a F grade for this assignment.
Choice of topics:

Students undertaking group assessments will be assessed on their capacities to work effectively in a group setting according to the nature of the group task in each unit. The main criteria include:
Your written report should include at least 5 (scholarly) journal articles read, in addition to any textbook references. The format of your report will be discussed in greater detail during tutorials.

History
Counselling is of American origin that started back then during World War II because the soldiers required a vocational motivation in order to boost them before getting a part of war.
However, this relationship can prove efficient in order to bring about the behavioral change only if it is effective, which depends upon the transference of ideas and thoughts between the counselor and client.
In 1940s and 1950s a special division ‘counselling psychology’ was formed that consist of psychologists, students and professional that promoted training and education. Counsellor and client relationship is an active and directive where the trainer or the counsellor helps the client in order to achieve better behavior. Wubbolding (2017) mentioned that dynamic nature and behavior of clients provides the counsellor to consider number theories in order to treat the client.
The more open and vividly client can speak to the counsellor, more effectively counsellors will be able to help them. Meanwhile it is counsellor’s job to make the client feel comfortable so that they can easily open up.
There are a number theories that can make an effective client and counsellor relationship while some of them are mentioned here.

Person Centered Therapy (PCT)
PCT also known as person-centered psychotherapy is a humanistic approach towards bringing the desired behavioral changed within the client.
However, this concept is eradicated by this therapy where the relationship between client and counsellor is in such a way that the counsellor helps to re-establish the lost identity of the client.
This theory works upon the major concept of how an individual perceives an information. It is a non-directive form of therapy that was discovered by Carl Rogers. Further, it majorly focuses towards the rebuilding of the client in such a way that they can establish their true identity. This is due to the fact that clients fail to share the insecurities with the outside world because of the fear of judging.
