1. Front Matter
a.
The article selected for the review is “Telerehabilitation Combined Speech-Language and Cognitive Training Effectively Promoted Recovery in Aphasia Patients”. This source of the article is credible because this article is published in 2018, thus the information in this article is less than 3 years old. This article is published in the reputed journal, which is Frontier in Psychology. This is the largest journal in its field, which published rigorously peer reviewed research article across the psychological science. The author of the article is Qiumin Zhou who worked in the Department of the Rehabilitation medicine in the first affiliated hospital of Nanjing Medical University in Nanjing, China. Since author has experienced in dealing with patient suffering from mental disorder. Thus, this source of information for this article is credible.
b.
This article by Zhou et al. (2018) includes the primary research approach.
c.
The title of the article is appropriate and illustrative. This is because title of the article suggested the research method and population on which study is conducted. It also suggested the aim for using this approach. The title of the article says that telerehabilitation combined speech-language and cognitive training is given to the Aphasia patient to promote the effective recovery. Abstract of the article itself clarifies that the study is completely based on the use of telecommunication to rehabilitate the patients.
2. Background
a.
Yes, background section of the article clearly provides all the information available related to the issues. Article introduces the topic by defining it. The article suggested that Aphasia could be defined as the acquired language disorder, which occurs due to brain damage, which includes damage due to stroke. This article suggested that use of the computerized speech-language therapy has shown effectiveness in improving speech-learning performance among people suffering from aphasia patients. It also suggested that previous studies failed to use standardized scales to evaluate the efficacy of the training, except one study, which use Western Aphasia Battery-Revised (WAB-R) for efficacy evaluation.
b.
Yes, background section of the study justifies the importance of the problem or issue. The article suggested that the number of the patients suffering from aphasia, which is caused by stroke, has been rapidly increased all over the world. It has been estimated that around 30-40% people suffering from stroke have aphasia. It also suggested that some language function of the patient could be recovered after one month of stroke. On the contrary, 60% of aphasia patients failed to recover completely after a year. Thus, large number of people with aphasia needs the clinical speech-language rehabilitation training. This develops huge pressure on current medical system in China.
c.

3. Method
3.1 Study Design
a.
This research study is quantitative.
b.
This research study is experimental.
c.
This research study is cross-sectional.
d.
The level of evidence for this research design under NHMRC framework is III-2.
e.
The strength of this research design is that it can be helpful on getting the practical data of the research. This can be done with the help of intensive fieldwork that can clarify the situation at the ground. This method helps in providing most reliable data as result generated from the practical conducted on the issues. Since this study includes the human interaction, it can be helpful in improving the validity of the result generated. Apart from this, it can be used as the base for the conduction of the future research related to the topic.
On the contrary, the limitation of the study include selection of the sample is not as random as expected for the study. This can have chance to reduce its implication on the general areas. It must be noted that participants of the study are under the influence of the researcher perspective, which led to the impact on the result generated in the study. The number of people selected in the study is very less. Thus, result cannot be used for the general population. The data generated in the study is very limited. There is no specific conclusion, which can be provided from the generated data for general population.
3.2 Participants and Sampling
a.
40 patients have been selected for the study. Each patient is suffering from aphasia. They were recruited from the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital rehabilitation medicine centre. There are 22 males and 18 females participated in the study. The duration of the disease among participants is 32.4-18.6 days. Apart from this, in 22 cases, patient suffered from cerebral infarction and in remaining 18 cases patient suffered from cerebral haemorrhage. All the participants of the study were treated with the routinely medications.
b.
There is random sampling of the...
