Assessment 2 Part A – Proposal and justification of tool or technique for qualitative and/or quantitative impact analysis will be posted individually by the first half of the module in Module 4 discussion forum. Students will complete their response to their peers by the end of Module 4.

THE QUESTION WAS:
Identification of EEF and justifications of tools for impact analysis

Students will use their project developed for Assessment 1 and identify enterprise environmental factors (EEF) of the project. In the discussion forum, individual students will write no more than 350 words to:
•    Propose a tool or technique they intend to use for qualitative and/or quantitative impact analysis of EEF.
•    Justify why the selected tool/technique is appropriate.
Enterprise environmental factors or EEF are conditions that can influence, constrain or direct the project and are not under the control of the project team. There is a vast range of EEF that can be divided in internal (organization culture, governance, standards, etc…) and external (political, economic, legal, technology, etc…) and they can have a positive or negative influence in the project outcome. They still are used as important inputs in several process mentioned in PMBOK, like Perform Integrated Change Control, Monitor and Control Project Work, Monitor and Control Project Work (PMBOK, 2013).
It has been proven that analyse this factors can be source of opportunity and prevent threats for any company. Any manager that wants to keep their business prospers needs to be able to adapt to the changing environment that we live on. For example, companies that did not predict in time the opportunities that the internet would give, had an unpleasant experience in the beginning of the century (Marmol et al., 2015).
There are a few tools to help analyse the EEF like SWOT analysis, PESTLE analysis, cost benefit, Monte Carlo, scenario analysis, VMOST analysis, Porter's five forces, BCG Matrix and many others (Peralta and Viltard, 2015). As in our business case we have limited data about the company and taking the short duration of the project, I believe PESTLE analysis seems to be one of the best option.
Using PESTLE analysis to analyse the EEF of the Nightingale Project Case it is possible to identify factors in all the six areas (Political, Social, Economic, Legal, Technological and Environmental) that should be considered as having possible impact in the project, some of them are:
•    Political: Government as the biggest client.

•    Social: Personnel administration and H.R issues.

•    Economic: Exchange rates and employment rates.

•    Legal: industry standards.

•    Technological: Patent and innovations.

•    Environmental: Electronic wast.
