Submission By 11:55pm AEST/AEDT Friday of Module 6 (Week 11/ 12) – on Blackboard for F2F and OL Weighting 20% Total Marks 100 marks Context: Businesses which do not properly address the factors in their micro and macro factors in their environment which can impact them may succumb to pressures which they did not account for. There are examples of businesses that have experienced severe disruptive events causing a significant loss or closure entirely due to some of these factors. Task Instructions: Choose a known case from the recent media report of an Australian or international business which has suffered severe losses or closed down due to external micro and macro environmental influences. Choose recent closures/losses within the last 6 months from the Assessent 3 Brief Page 2 deadline stated in the assessment brief. Prepare a digital presentation incorporating the following: - Identify the specific external environmental forces (both micro and macro) those lead to the loss/closure of your chosen business. - Analyse these forces using PESTLE (political, economic, socio-cultural, technological, legal and environmental) and Porter’s five forces framework on your chosen business. - Describe responses by the business that were unsuccessful to counter losses or closure. - Recommend counter strategies that could help to prevent the risk of losses/closure of the business. Submission Instructions: Digital presentation involves producing a PowerPoint presentation with audio and visual components. If you are working in a group, all the group members must record their voices on the digital presentation by dividing equal amount of time. Students must not just read the slides. Creativity in the slides and highly engaging presentation styles are very important. You are required to embed the audio into each slide to create a slideshow. It is recommended that you first view a YouTube video that shows how to do a simple voice over on a power point presentation. The address is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uk4CU7uobM. Check your completed presentation on another computer before submitting it to ensure that the sound is embedded into each slide and not just linked to it. If it is not correctly embedded, the sound will only work on your computer and not on another one. Ensure that your selected font can be easily read by the audience. Slides should not have too much information. Your audio must be expanding on that information. Prompts and dot points are recommended in the slides. Make sure that presentation pitches at an ideal level for the intended audience. Your presentation grade could vary due to your presentation skills and not guaranteed the same grade as other peers in the group. It is highly recommended that you practice your presentation several times before you submit the final record. It is recommended that instead of power point, you can use other digital platform such as, youtube, Collaborative Ultra, Canva, Padlet, etc on your choice. Submit copy of digital presentation via the Assessment 3 link in the main navigation menu in BIZ202. The Learning Facilitator will provide feedback with reference to the criteria below via the Grade Centre in the Blackboard portal. Feedback can be viewed in My Grades after the final result. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uk4CU7uobM Assessent 3 Brief Page 3 Learning Rubric: Assessment 3 Assessment Attributes Fail (Unacceptable) (0-49) Pass (Functional) (50-64) Credit (Proficient) (65-74) Distinction (Advanced) (75-84) High Distinction (Exceptional) (85-100) Grade Description (Grading Scheme) Fail grade will be awarded if a student is unable to demonstrate satisfactory academic performance in the subject or has failed to complete required assessment points in accordance with the subject’s required assessment points.
