Ask each (primary-grade) student to choose a character in a story (book, TV cartoon) they especially like (or assign a character familiar to the student) and use any, or several, of various media (crayon drawing, descriptive words, mime, cooperative role-playing) to illustrate some of the character’s important characteristics. Ask other class members to interpret their classmate’s representation of what the character is like, is feeling, and so on, or (if appropriate) guess who the character is and why they think so.
