As you read and annotate, consider the writer’s knowledge of the subject, how well common ground is established, and whether the writer deals fairly with objections and opposing arguments.
Keep track of the different writing techniques a writer uses. You can do so by annotating the text or by listing the techniques on a separate page. Don’t worry about using the formal or technical names for these techniques.
