A 100% tax on the retail price of all artificial Christmas trees made from plastic. Finland does not produce many plastic Christmas trees and instead, specialises in the production of natural Christmas trees which are taxed at 5%.
A requirement for all artificial Christmas trees sold in Finland to be made from material that is 100% recyclable.
In addition, the Finnish Advertising Board (FAB) which is a body funded by Finland to regulate and enforce advertising standards, has decided to impose a ban on the advertising of all plastic Christmas trees.
