Use it to answer question two and its subsections below. • Find your own example of a biological topic in the media. Use your article to answer question three and its subsections below. TO RECEIVE CREDIT, ALL ANSWERS MUST BE WRITTEN IN COMPLETE, COHERENT, LOGICAL SENTENCES. Label your answers 1a, 1b, etc. 1) For the article that demonstrates the scientific method being used, answer the following. a) What is the title of the article? b) Why do you think this is an example of the scientific method being used? Justify your answer by referring to the steps of the scientific method. Which of the steps, as described on the first two pages of this handout, do you think were followed in this study? Explain your reasoning. c) Identify the hypothesis of this study and write it in the form of a testable statement. d) What is a control group, and how does a control group differ from an experimental group? Did this study have a control group? Explain. e) Summarize the data that resulted from the experiment. ample of the scientific method because it first raises a question regarding the connection between vaccines and autism. The article then provides answer to that question based on a prominent, verifiable scientific test.

Many expectant parents are wary of all the recommended vaccines their newborns are supposed to get in the first hours, days and even the first couple of years, believing that too many vaccines too soon may increase their child's risk for autism.
