Early Childhood Education: A Quality Approach


There may be long-standing benefits of h
igh quality early education. Hence; the field has
become the central point of attraction for decision makers. The most critical questions related to
the area under discussion are regarding the curriculum, assessment of a child and evaluation of
program implemented.
According to the “National Association for the Education of Young Children” and the “National
Association of Early Childhood Specialists in State departments of Education” policy makers,
early child hood professionals and other stake holders in young children’s lives should share the
responsibility to construct an inclusive system of curriculum formation, its appraisal and
program evaluation.
In fact, these persons should ensure that only such curriculum could be implemented which is
well planned via adoption of a thoughtful approach. Besides, there is also need to review the
central part of such programs not only in a reasonable but also in an ethical mode. But, the role
of all stake holders could not be termed completed up to the time of evaluation of program with
the help of goals and evidences. Such an evaluation should be performed via adoption of
expected standards of quality only.
