Arrhenius & Bronsted-Lowry Acid-Base Theory Worksheet Name: __________________
For the next THREE acids/bases write the Arrhenius Reaction (ONLY ONE Hydrogen IS LOST)
HBr(aq)
H2SO3(aq)
H3PO4(aq)
2)For the same Three acids, write out the Bronsted-Lowry reaction with water. (only one hydrogen is exchanged)
3) Write out the Bronsted-Lowry reaction of Na3BO3(aq) with water (only one step!)
(remember- remove metal, don’t forget charges and react with water!)
4) Write out the TWO steps of a Bronsted-Lowry reaction with the acid H2CrO4(aq)
(show the acid giving away one hydrogen ion in one step, then a second H+(aq) in another step).
