Answerthreeof the following six questions. These questions are based on the study questions, so your answers to the study questions are the key to completing this assignment.

Each of your answers should be in the form of a short essay—do not use point form. You may use either APA or MLA style, but the important thing is to choose a format and apply it consistently and honestly throughout your essay. For guidance on what you should be looking for when crafting your assignment, you will find it useful to consult the “Writing Essays” page in the Course Information. Also very important is the “Academic Integrity and Plagiarism” page, which you should read before beginning your essay. Additionally, the “Resources: General, Research, and Writing” link at the bottom of the course home page contains a list of other valuable online writing resources.

Do not forget that you can submit an essay assignment to theWrite Siteto receive feedback about the writing component—organization, mechanics, grammar, and style—of an assignment before you submit it to your tutor for marking.

  1. In “Ill-Founded Criticisms of Business Ethics,” Vaidya critically responds to four common criticisms of business ethics. Explain (i) the argument of the critic who claims that business ethics is “indeterminate,” (ii) Vaidya’s response to this argument, and (iii) why you agree or disagree with Vaidya’s counter-argument.

  2. What is anormative ethical theory? Answer this question by explaining the evaluative standards of conduct offered by three of the five ethical theories discussed in Units 2 and 3. Use examples to illustrate your explanation of each of these ethical theories.

  3. How does David Meeler’s analysis of the global textile industry illustrate both a positive and a negative aspect of utilitarianism in practice?

  4. Explain and critically evaluate how Robert L. Arrington and Roger Crisp’s differing accounts of human autonomy give rise to different conclusions about the ethics of associative advertising. Who do you side with in this debate, and why?

  5. Select a real-world example of associative advertising that draws on a tenuously linked pre-existing human desire to sell its product. Explain why you think that such an ad either does, or does not, violate human autonomy. (If you cannot think of an ad yourself, the ads of the following companies may be worth exploring: AXE Body Wash and other AXE products, Coca-Cola, Walmart, and almost every automobile manufacturer. YouTube is a good place to start your search.)

  6. Select a real-world example of associative advertising that speaks to what John Waide considers to be morally problematic about associative advertising. Explain why you agree or disagree with Waide’s diagnosis. (If you cannot think of an ad yourself, the ads of the following companies may be worth exploring: AXE Body Wash and other AXE products, Coca-Cola, Walmart, and almost every automobile manufacturer. YouTube is a good place to start your search.)

As per Vaidya’s approach to ill foundation of criticism of business ethics, there are four major dimensions namely, ethics in business mainly useless, it is non-feasible, it is indeterminate and it has beside the point kind of perception. Especially when discussed about the indeterminate nature, the scope of analysis of business ethics leads to some conclusive statements. It exclusively guides people about how they are supposed to idealize their business perspectives (Papies, Best, Gelibter & Barsalou, 2017).
It gives them insightful views about having access to ethical norms without which, determination of success is inappropriate to imagine. Additionally, to counter the argument that business ethics is indeterminate, Vaidya uses the universally applicable approach. As per his observation, not always, normative theories of business are applied on all business conditions. He simply states that ethicists and economists have divided state of opinions over the first principles of business.
This conflicting situation cannot lead to inquiry of value and, therefore, ethics in business cannot reach to a determinate position. Thus, in order to justify their perception, the scholars have to show consensus on the process of inquiry (Laczniak & Murphy, 2019). I agree with Vaidya’s response as I also promote the idea that every ethical norm should be debatable on positive grounds.
    Question Three
David Meeler defines the utilitarianism as the theory of cause and effect; the actions of human beings, either they are positive or negative; affect those who stand in line of interest of the action. If...
