In the word of law there are three major opinions that can take place in supreme court which are majority opinion, minority opinion and concurring opinion. Mak and Sidman (2020) have discussed that the majority opinion is such opinion where the opinion expresses the view which is shared by more than half of the justices. The majority of people who are involved in this decision explains the rationale behind the supporting of the court’s decision. Hence it is called majority opinion as accepted by majority of the people. The concurring opinion is such as opinion which is accepted or authored by more than one justice. The judges involved in the decision making agrees with the outcome that is decided by the majority of the people. The minority opinion or known as dissenting opinion is an opinion in a legal case which is taken in certain legal systems is written by more than one judge. The opinion is written with respect to the disagreement with the majority opinion of the court which gives rise to the judgement.

From the news report it cannot always be judged or concluded that the crime is dropping or increasing. This can be further elaborated taking help from Lee et al.
