Deep Vein Thrombosis:
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a condition where a blood clot is formed in
the deep vein of the legs and pelvis region. This causes swelling, pain and enlarged veins in the affected area causing severe problems in locomotion.
Treatment from DVT:
The aim of the treatment is to prevent the clot from enlarging and spreading to the other organs of the body. The treatments include self-care, medications and maintaining a healthy and prescribed diet.
Medications include use of anticoagulants or blood thinners and thrombolytic drugs to dissolve the clots and minimise the area of clot formation and reduce the spread.
Self-care includes eating a healthy and nutritious food, doing regular exercises with special attention to legs, wearing loose socks to enable proper blood flow. Stretch the legs and feet while sitting for long hours and avoid injuries to the clot area.
