An isothermal, 100 cm × 100 cm square plate is exposed to air. The air temperature is 25 ◦C, and the surface temperature is 45 ◦C.
1. Assuming pure natural convection, calculate the average heat transfer coefficients for three configurations:
(a) vertical;
(b) inclined at 60◦ to the vertical, with heated surface downward;
(c) Horizontal, upward facing.
2. Repeat part 1(a), this time assuming that the ambient air is flowing upward at a velocity of 0.1 m/s
