An insurance office offers its staff free membership in a local fitness center. The intention is to give employees a chance to exercise and hopefully feel better about their jobs (which are rather sedentary). Rather than ask the employees if they like the service, the company developed a measure of productivity for each employee based on the number of claims handled. To assess the program, managers measured productivity of staff members both before and after the introduction of this program. How should these data be analyzed in order to judge the effect of the exercise program?
